Using my new understanding about assessment purposes and alignment, how do I
now evaluate my personal experiences with assessment as a learner or as a
professional?
I have realized that when designing an assessment, it is important to know the purpose by which we are giving the assessment. Also, to ensure the validity and reliability of a certain assessment, it should be aligned to the learning outcomes.
It made me realize that there should be a framework or a system by how we do assessments and it is not as easy as it look like. To take note that each type of assessment has its own purpose that it serves.
The next time, I design my assessments for my students, I will be more careful and make sure that I choose the right one and that I ensure the alignment with the learning outcomes.
